A 60-day ceasefire and negotiation period between the US and Iran formally ends on Monday. The timeline was set out in an MOU released by the two sides on June 17, 2026, under which they sought to end their conflict and reach a final deal on nuclear issues and maritime access. However, renewed US strikes on Iran in July, along with US President Donald Trump's suggestion that the arrangement had been terminated, derailed talks before the deadline.
