Thousands of fishing boats have set sail from ports along China's eastern and southern coasts as fishing resumes in stages across the East and South China seas.
The South China Sea's three-and-a-half-month summer fishing moratorium ended at noon on Sunday, while specially licensed boats have also resumed operations in parts of the East China Sea. The seasonal closures allow marine fish stocks time to recover.
