Hundreds of stargazers gathered in Altay, Xinjiang, to witness the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, where up to 90 shooting stars per hour lit up the night sky. Known for its high altitude and minimal light pollution, Altay is one of China's top dark-sky destinations, offering breathtaking views of the Milky Way. The Perseids are now fading, but Altay will host another celestial show with the Geminids in December.
