Developed by Jiangnan Shipyard of the China State Shipbuilding Corporation, the vessel features low fuel consumption and maintenance cost with long-range transport capabilities, making it an economical and environmentally friendly vessel.
It will mainly support ethane transportation for domestic petrochemical enterprises, said Yuan Shizhen, chief constructor of the series.
The vessel is equipped with a shaft generator and an ethane-fueled main engine, which can reduce sulfide emissions by 99% and hydrocarbon emissions by 18%, providing significant support for green shipping, said Yuan.
