Heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon flooded homes and roads in Manila on Monday. Residents waded through deep floodwaters, while some homes were inundated up to the second floor.

Residents said the water rose rapidly after a heavy downpour. Authorities suspended in-person classes in Metro Manila and 12 other provinces as heavy rain continued to cause flooding and landslides in parts of the country.
