Reports: The Japanese Ambassador to the Russian Foreign Ministry was told that Russia's sovereignty and jurisdiction over the South Kuril Islands are inviolable. Any attempts by the Japanese side to directly or indirectly question the ownership of the southern Kuril Islands are unacceptable and illegal, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
