Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday said that China is willing to deepen ties with Chile in the context of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) "China year", during a meeting with his Chilean counterpart Francisco Perez Mackenna in Beijing.
As this year marks the 10th anniversary of the China-Chile comprehensive strategic partnership, Wang said China is willing to work with Chile to bring bilateral ties to new heights.
In response, Francisco Perez Mackenna said developing relations with China has become a Chilean national policy. He wished APEC every success during its "China year" and expressed a willingness to represent Chilean contributions to this end.
Shenzhen will host the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in south China's Guangdong Province this November. This marks China's third time hosting the event, following Shanghai in 2001 and Beijing in 2014.
