China's 4.7-km Songhua River super bridge reaches full closure

A super bridge under construction in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, has completed final concrete pouring, marking the full closure of its main structure. Spanning 4,668.5 meters, the bridge features a unique 120-meter-high A-shaped single tower and a large-span arch structure, designed to withstand the challenging conditions of the region's cold climate. Builders used precise, synchronized construction technologies to overcome harsh weather and complex river conditions. Once completed and open to traffic, the bridge is expected to improve the local highway network, ease regional traffic congestion and boost tourism around the Songhua River.
