The 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP17) is underway in Ulaanbaatar, with this year's theme: "Restoring Land, Restoring Hope." CGTN's Li Qiuyuan spoke with Louise Baker, Managing Director of the Global Mechanism of the UNCCD. Baker called for a more integrated, risk-informed approach to managing land degradation, and highlighted China's approach as an effective blend of public policy, scientific innovation and community participation.
