Manhu, an ethnic music band from Yunnan, southwest China, traveled to Canada in August 2026 for a series of performances and cultural exchange activities. On August 16, the band arrived in Canada's capital for its Ottawa program, with the Ottawa Chinese Musicians Association (OCMA) serving as one of the local organizers.
During their visit, Manhu traveled to several major landmarks and cultural venues, including the "Ottawa" sign, Parliament Hill, the National War Memorial and the National Arts Centre (NAC), where the band presented pop-up performances, filmed cultural segments, and participated in musical and cultural exchanges.
Through performances at major landmarks, engagement with a national cultural institution, exchanges with indigenous artists, community performances in Chinatown, and an evening concert, Manhu's Ottawa program presented a vivid example of cultural dialogue between China and Canada through music.
