George Chen: US-China AI competition is not necessarily a bad thing

George Chen, partner and chair of Digital Practice at The Asia Group, told CNBC International that competition is not necessarily a bad thing and can drive technological innovation. Using AI as an example, he said pressure from China also pushes US AI companies to innovate further and harder. He said that there is still room for US-China cooperation in AI, with both sides able to strengthen communication on AI-related risks and their potential impact on the financial market system.
