Can a robot do more than run, fight or play football?

At the second World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, robots are being tested far beyond the sports field. Some events have moved into real hotels, libraries and firefighting facilities, where robots take on service, everyday and emergency-response tasks.

The goal is no longer simply to build robots that can move – it's to build robots that can get things done.
