Wu Lei scores twice as Shanghai Port rallies past Qingdao Hainiu

Veteran striker Wu Lei struck a brace as Shanghai Port came from behind to beat relegation-threatened Qingdao Hainiu 2-1 at home on Sunday.

The visitors went in front in the 16th minute after Shanghai paid the price for failing to deal with a long ball. Carlos Strandberg broke through the defense and beat Port goalkeeper Yan Junling to give Qingdao an early advantage.

The hosts responded shortly before half-time. Yang Xi sent the ball across the area for Wu to finish from close range and level the score.

Wu struck again in the 67th minute after Yang was fouled inside the penalty area. The 34-year-old converted the resulting spot-kick to put his team ahead and secure all three points for the Shanghai club.

The result extended Qingdao's losing streak in the league to seven consecutive matches.

Elsewhere, Liaoning Tieren produced a stunning fightback to earn a thrilling 4-4 draw with Henan FC after trailing 4-1.

Brazilian forward Gustavo scored a hat-trick in the space of 16 minutes as Henan established a three-goal advantage by the hour mark.

Liaoning refused to give in, with Zang Yifeng reducing the deficit in the 63rd minute. 18-year-old Zhang Hongfu then scored his first Chinese Super League goal to make it 4-3.

Takahiro Kunimoto completed the comeback from the penalty spot in the final minute, earning Liaoning a point after they had appeared destined for defeat.

In another match on Sunday, Dalian Yingbo edged Chongqing Tonglianglong 1-0 on the road as Lu Zhuoyi scored the only goal of the game.
