Giant bridge completes 28° turn in central China

The Songbu Super Major Bridge of the Hefei-Wuhan High-Speed Railway in Macheng City, Hubei Province, successfully completed its rotation construction on August 25.

The bridge is a key part of the high-speed railway linking Hefei City in east China's Anhui Province and Wuhan City in central China's Hubei Province.

Weighing more than 10,000 tonnes and measuring over 160 meters in length, the bridge body precisely completed a 28-degree "in-the-air turn" above the existing Macheng-Wuhan Railway, achieving millimeter-level alignment precision. The successful completion of this rotation marks the completion of all rotation construction tasks for this section, laying a solid foundation for subsequent box-girder erection and the railway's full opening to traffic.
