From the elegance of waltz to the energy of samba, humanoid robots took to the dance floor at the 2026 World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing.

The newly introduced dancesport event paired two autonomous robots and tested their balance, rhythm, joint flexibility and coordination. At the August 25 final, a waltz-performing pair won the event with synchronized turns, rises and falls, and swinging movements.
