Mainland: Taiwan Industrial Association voices public sentiment

Asia;China

The Taiwan Industrial Association on Monday called for greater efforts to build cross-Strait ties. The call came in a section of the Association’s annual white paper devoted to cross-Strait policy, with the theme of "Confidence and stability, building a new chapter for cross-Strait development". The white paper suggests the Democratic Progressive Party authorities simplify the review process for industrial experts from the mainland visiting Taiwan. It says more stable relations can be created through people-to-people exchanges. Commenting on the paper, the Taiwan Affairs Office of China’s State Council said this is in line with public sentiment and the general trend.
