From August 30 to September 3, Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2026 in Bishkek and pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt upon the invitation of President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday.

At a regular press conference on Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian introduced the main arrangements for Xi's upcoming visits and China's expectations for developing relations with Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.

Lin said that China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, good friends who trust each other, and good partners sharing common aspirations.

Last year, President Xi met with President Japarov three times, guiding China-Kyrgyzstan cooperation into a "golden period" of rapid development, Lin said.

During the visit, Xi will hold talks with Japarov to exchange in-depth views on bilateral relations, cooperation in key areas, international and regional issues, and attend various state activities, Lin said.

China looks forward to working with Kyrgyzstan and takes the visit as an opportunity to promote the high-quality development of all-round mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, further enrich the China-Kyrgyzstan community with a shared future, and benefit the two peoples, Lin added.

Lin also said that Egypt was among the first Arab and African countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China.

In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi and President El-Sisi, political mutual trust between the two countries has continued to deepen; fruitful results have been achieved in cooperation across various fields; people-to-people exchanges have become increasingly frequent; and multilateral coordination has remained close and effective, Lin said.

The China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership has achieved leapfrog development and entered its best period in history, becoming a model of solidarity, cooperation and mutual benefit among developing countries, he noted.

The visit marks Xi's first state visit to Egypt in 10 years and comes as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, carrying special significance for the development of bilateral relations, Lin pointed out.

During the visit, Xi will hold talks with El-Sisi to exchange views in depth on China-Egypt relations and international and regional issues of common concern, Lin said.

China looks forward to working with Egypt through the visit to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, support each other's modernization process, jointly write a new chapter in China-Egypt relations, and make positive contributions to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world, Lin said.
