A mudslide hit Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on Wednesday. A brigade of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) launched an emergency response and mobilized 9,186 items, including cotton tents, folding beds and moisture-proof mats, from a central disaster relief reserve in Lhasa.
After three hours of around-the-clock operations, all vehicles carrying the supplies departed to support the relocation and relief of affected residents.
