Rescue operations intensified on Thursday at mudslide-stricken Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, as police officers entered the hardest-hit area to conduct rescue patrols. Helicopters were also dispatched to search the disaster zone, assess damage and identify rescue and evacuation routes.
