The Chinese Ministry of Emergency Management and China's National Fire and Rescue Administration have dispatched the China Search and Rescue Team to reinforce rescue efforts at Gyirong Port in Xigaze City, Xizang Autonomous Region.

A total of 111 firefighters and rescue personnel were sent, carrying equipment and supplies for detection, lifesaving, demolition, communications and logistical support.

The China Search and Rescue Team is composed of professional search and rescue personnel from Beijing and Sichuan.
