The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has been actively promoting cooperation among member states on new technologies, startups and innovation, which are becoming increasingly prominent on the SCO's agenda, said Nurlan Yermekbayev, the organization's secretary-general, in Beijing on Tuesday.

Speaking to China Media Group (CMG) ahead of the upcoming summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the secretary-general said that the organization is actively building cooperation mechanisms and reinforcing its legal framework to meet the technological demands of the modern era.
