Adel, a student from Kyrgyzstan majoring in international relations at Tsinghua University, has witnessed the deepening ties between China and Kyrgyzstan firsthand. From learning Chinese and making Chinese friends to celebrating traditional Chinese festivals, she has gradually embraced life in China and gained a deeper understanding of the growing exchanges between the two countries.

With the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2026 set to take place in her hometown of Bishkek, Adel sees expanding cultural exchanges, trade and cooperation as creating new opportunities for young people. From waste-to-energy plant to the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, she sees new possibilities for the future. She hopes the summit will bring countries closer together and build bridges of friendship among people from different cultural backgrounds.
