"Classics Quoted by Xi Jinping," a multilingual TV program produced by China Media Group (CMG) began airing in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday, as Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to attend the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Starting from Sunday, the program will also be broadcast by mainstream media outlets in other SCO member states, including Belarus, India, Russia and Kazakhstan.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov sent a congratulatory letter to the launch ceremony, which was read out by his press secretary.

The program explores themes including economic development, technological innovation, ecological conservation and people's well-being. It selects classical Chinese quotations cited by President Xi in his speeches, articles and remarks, and uses them to illustrate the historical and cultural foundations of his governance philosophy, while showcasing China's experience and approaches in addressing global challenges.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, Ulanbek Satiev, General Director of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Corporation of the Kyrgyz Republic (NTRK), and other senior media executives from SCO member states delivered speeches at the launch ceremony. Liu Jiangping, Chinese ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, delivered remarks via video.

Shen said that President Xi proposed the Global Governance Initiative at the "SCO Plus" meeting in September last year and emphasized that the SCO should continue to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations and write a new chapter of peaceful coexistence among countries with different histories, cultures, social systems and development stages.

"The launch of 'Classics Quoted by Xi Jinping' in SCO countries is a vivid practice of implementing the consensus reached by SCO member states' leaders, deepening friendship, enhancing mutual trust and expanding exchanges among SCO countries," Shen said.

He added that the program would help audiences better understand Xi's governance wisdom, while offering a window into Chinese culture and values.

Satiev said the program provides an in-depth interpretation of China's experience in improving global governance. He added that the launch event has created a platform for professional exchanges, helping Kyrgyzstan and China enhance media cooperation, share experiences and further deepen friendship among SCO countries.

More than 100 guests from SCO countries, including representatives from political, economic, cultural and media sectors, attended the event.
