The death toll from the mudslide which hit Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on August 26 had risen to 16 as of 6 p.m. on Saturday, with 546 people still missing, according to the regional government.

Attendees at a press conference held in Gyirong County on Sunday stood for a moment of silence to mourn the victims.
