Drones deliver emergency supplies in the mudslide-hit area. /CMG

Eleven drone pilots have been deployed to support rescue efforts at the mudslide-hit border port of Gyirong in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.

The team is operating seven reconnaissance drones and two heavy-lift unmanned aircraft, split into monitoring and supply-delivery groups.

The monitoring task force is tracking water flow through an upstream barrier lake, road damage and sediment buildup in the port area, while producing high-precision 3D maps to measure debris depth and guide rescue crews.

The supply team is working alongside firefighters to deliver food, raincoats and other essentials to rescuers on the front lines.

Technical staff are coordinating from the base of operations, analyzing disaster risks and producing assessment maps to support ground efforts.

Hundreds of people have died and thousands remain missing after a massive mudslide swept down a river valley at the China-Nepal border on Wednesday.
