- Search and rescue operations continued on Saturday after the deadly mudslide that hit the border port of Gyirong in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region.

- As of 1 a.m. Saturday, seven people had been confirmed dead and 554 others remained missing in Xizang. 

- Nepal's disaster authority said Saturday the death toll from the floods has risen to 675, with 2,426 still missing.

- China's Ministry of Emergency Management on Saturday dispatched five Chinese tunnel experts to Nepal to support rescue efforts at a hydropower plant tunnel, at Kathmandu's request. Four more have also been sent.
