16 dead, 546 missing after mudslide hit border port in China's Xizang

A total of 16 people have been confirmed dead, and 546 remain missing as of 6 p.m. Saturday after a mudslide struck Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, a local official told a press conference on Sunday.

The mudslide struck the port along the China-Nepal border on Wednesday morning.

A total of 261 foreign nationals from 23 countries have been identified as missing following the disaster.
