A China Media Group (CMG) reporter followed rescue teams to Gyirong Port, the core disaster zone following the mudslide along the China-Nepal border. Starting in the early morning of August 28, dozens of search and rescue personnel trekked for over 10 hours to reach the area. To prevent hypothermia, they could not sleep for long periods and have been working intensively for three consecutive days. So far, they have completed two full sweeps of a 40,000-square-meter area and will next carry out deeper searches.
