Chinese and Nepali rescue teams work in landslide-hit northern Nepal

Under the unified coordination of the Nepali government, Chinese tunnel rescue experts, together with Nepali military and police forces and local rescue teams, have entered landslide-affected areas in northern Nepal to conduct inspections and search operations inside disaster-stricken tunnels.

According to Chinese tunnel rescue experts, rescue efforts face multiple challenges. Road access to the disaster zone has been cut off, preventing heavy rescue equipment from reaching the worst-affected areas and severely limiting rescue operations. Meanwhile, severe flooding and thick silt inside the tunnels are hampering rescuers' progress.
