Former Kyrgyz PM: Connectivity, pragmatism and independence define SCO

As the Shanghai Cooperation Organization marks its 25th anniversary, the 2026 SCO Summit is underway in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Djoomart Otorbaev told CGTN's Wang Guan that the SCO is a "unique organization." He said members can look beyond differences in political systems and economic models and pursue win-win outcomes through dialogue, connectivity and pragmatism. He also stressed that greater independence and reliance on their own strengths can help drive development and prosperity across the region.
