Just 1.15 kilometers remain on Road G216 to Gyirong Port, which was partly swept away by the deadly China-Nepal border mudslide. As of 10 a.m. on August 31, road restoration efforts had advanced 533 meters. With fast-flowing water and little room to operate machinery, workers are bringing in large rocks to rebuild the roadbed and clear a path toward the port.
