The death toll from Nepal's mudslide has risen to 919 as of 1 p.m. local time, according to Nepal's police on Monday.

A massive landslide struck the Rasuwagadhi area in northern Nepal on August 26. The Nepalese government decided the same day to designate several local administrative units in the affected areas as disaster crisis zones for three months, in accordance with relevant laws. 

The designation is intended to facilitate the centralized allocation of rescue resources, strengthen personnel management, and expedite post-disaster recovery efforts.
