700 meters to go: Rescuers race to reopen highway to mudslide-hit border port in Xizang

The G216 national highway to mudslide-hit Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region has been restored to within 700 meters of the port as of Tuesday afternoon.

Rescuers are working around the clock to reopen the road, which will facilitate the entry of key equipment, personnel and supplies into the disaster area.
