On September 1, the world's first 325,000-deadweight-tonnage methanol dual-fuel ore carrier was officially completed in Yangzhou, east China's Jiangsu Province. The ship is 339.9 meters long, 62 meters wide and equipped with the world's first digital delivery system. It marks a new breakthrough for China's shipbuilding industry in both green propulsion and digital commissioning.

Ore carriers are specialized vessels built to transport high-density raw materials, such as iron ore and bauxite. The vessel delivered on Tuesday is able to hold 40% more cargo compared to conventional ore carriers. 

With the dual-fuel system, the ship can reduce carbon emissions by 52,000 tonnes per year.
