At the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games, a Chinese humanoid robot set a new 100-meter world record in the robot category, clocking 8.64 seconds and surpassing the men's 100-meter world record set by Usain Bolt.

Calling the feat an "incredible achievement," former White House advisor Lindsay Gorman said China's vast manufacturing base and supply-chain cost advantages have made robotics a strategic national industry. She also pointed to significant investment in the sector, saying China has established a clear lead in robotics.
