At a press briefing on August 31, Nepal's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for providing emergency assistance following the mudslide disaster that caused severe casualties in both countries.  

Chhetri said Chinese experts and relief supplies had arrived, adding that "more assistance is on the way."
