At the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Bishkek on Sunday for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2026 and a state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
This is President Xi's third state visit to Kyrgyzstan. President Sadyr Japarov welcomed the distinguished old friend with a grand ceremony.
For more than a decade, President Xi has held multiple meetings with Kyrgyz leaders, guiding China-Kyrgyzstan relations toward leapfrog development. During this visit, the two heads of state signed a joint declaration of the People's Republic of China and the Kyrgyz Republic on the high-quality development of the comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era and a bilateral treaty on permanent good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation, bringing China-Kyrgyzstan relations to a new stage.
