Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, attended an event organized by Aigul Japarova, wife of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, on Tuesday morning for spouses of leaders attending the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

Upon arriving at the Ala-Archa State Residence, Peng was warmly greeted by Japarova. Peng and spouses of leaders from participating countries viewed an exhibition on the ethnic culture of Kyrgyzstan and posed for group photos before watching a stage performance at the Enesay Reception House.

Peng praised the performance as wonderful and commended the performers for their outstanding artistry. She invited Kyrgyz artists to visit China for more performances and cultural exchanges so as to give Chinese audiences a closer look at the country's rich ethnic culture.
