For days, professional rescue teams from China Anneng have been working to reopen the damaged section of National Highway G216.

Meanwhile, Xizang immigration management police officers, who were previously airlifted by rescue helicopters into the core zone of Gyirong Port to conduct search operations, watched the road-clearing operation unfold in the early hours of September 1.

By 8 a.m., they could see excavators rounding the final bend and drawing closer by the minute.

"We will accelerate our search. We will not give up, we will not abandon anyone, and we will do everything in our power to find those still unaccounted for," said Ye Yi, a police officer with the Xigaze Border Control Detachment of the Xizang General Border Inspection Station.
