China is preparing a third batch of emergency relief supplies for Nepal based on the country's needs, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday at a regular presser.

Guo said that the second batch of emergency relief supplies provided by China arrived in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, on Tuesday afternoon, with five DNA identification experts arriving on the same flight to assist the Nepali side in relevant work.

He noted that the Nepali side expressed gratitude to China for providing additional emergency assistance and technical support, after a severe mudslide disaster devastated the two countries' border areas on August 26. The disaster, triggered by a high-mountain glacier collapse in Nepal's border area, has caused significant casualties and left many people missing on both sides.
