Gyirong mudslide reporting: Ethics or censorship?

After a deadly mudslide struck Gyirong Port in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, the BBC put censorship at the center of its reporting. Meanwhile, some Indian media reports and social media posts blamed Chinese infrastructure for the disaster.

But the censorship claim contravenes the BBC's own editorial guidelines, and published rescue updates and findings from Chinese, Nepali and US institutions tell a different story.
