According to the latest statistics from the Xinjiang Border Inspection General Station, Kalasu Port, China's only land gateway to Tajikistan, hit a record high in throughput in the first eight months of 2026. Commercial vehicle crossings jumped nearly 20% to about 18,000, and passenger traffic surged over 30% to 40,000. To keep up the momentum, the port has extended clearance hours, added inspection lanes and stepped up coordination with Tajikistan to boost trade efficiency between the two SCO members.
