The death toll from the massive mudslide in Nepal has risen to 1,204 people, local authorities said on Wednesday.

Around 4,216 people are still missing as of 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority said in a statement on its website.

A total of 11,993 people have been rescued to date, the statement added.
