The China Coast Guard (CCG) on Thursday conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in the waters east of China's Taiwan Island, a spokesperson said.

The CCG task group led by CCGS Putuoshan conducted routine law-enforcement patrols in the waters in accordance with the law, said Jiang Lue, spokesperson for the CCG.  

Since August, the Putuoshan task group had been strengthening control over the relevant waters to effectively ensure orderly navigation and activities, safeguarding the legitimate and lawful rights and interests, as well as the lives and property of the Chinese people, including our compatriots in Taiwan, Jiang noted.

The China Coast Guard will continue to strengthen law-enforcement patrols in the waters under China's jurisdiction and resolutely safeguard China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests, he said.
