Bordering Russia and located close to Mongolia, Manzhouli in Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia features a distinctive blend of Chinese, Russian and Mongolian cultural elements. Matryoshka Square is a vivid showcase of these cultural influences.
Two hotels shaped like matryoshka dolls, traditional Russian nesting dolls, are the square's most eye-catching landmarks. The larger one stands 93 meters tall and is the world's largest matryoshka doll-shaped building. Its facade features painted female figures representing China, Russia and Mongolia.
Visitors can also explore a nearby pedestrian street, where they can shop for souvenirs and choose from a variety of foods.
