Nepali Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said on Thursday that the Nepali government sincerely appreciates China's generous assistance in Nepal's time of crisis during his meeting with Zhang Maoming, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal.
Shisir once again extended sincere greetings to the Chinese government and people on behalf of the Nepali government.
Noting Nepal and China share the natural ecosystem of the Himalayas and are both countries affected by climate change, Shisir said Nepal agrees with China that addressing climate change is a shared responsibility of the international community.
Shisir added that Nepal does not intend to seek "climate compensation" from any individual country, including China, and will pursue compensation from the international community under the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.
