Thanks to the inscription of the Jingdezhen Handicraft Porcelain Industry Sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Taoyangli Historical and Cultural Block has gained new momentum in both preservation and revitalization. As the core heritage zone of China's millennium-old porcelain capital, it embodies the essence of Jingdezhen's ceramic civilization.

The Taoyangli Historical and Cultural Block features over 100 ancient lanes, well-preserved imperial and ordinary kilns dating back to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, offering a complete record of the city's porcelain-making evolution. This rare living heritage site has witnessed the coexistence of official and civilian kilns and continues to preserve authentic ancient ceramic craftsmanship.

Long the core of Jingdezhen's ceramic industry, Taoyangli was home to generations of porcelain artisans. Different from lifeless static relics, it retains the original kilns, workshops and dwellings, passing down traditional porcelain-making skills to this day.

Numerous ancient buildings and lanes in the block have been restored in accordance with protective and low-intervention renewal principles. Abandoned kilns and old industrial sites have been transformed into exhibition halls, creative studios, and experience spaces, breathing new life into the area's ceramic heritage. The area has revived ancient kiln-firing traditions and adopted digital heritage display technology, attracting young creators. This blend of tradition and modern creativity has transformed the ancient block into a popular local cultural landmark.
