China sends rescue teams to landslide site in Jiangxi

China's Ministry of Emergency Management has dispatched a working group and activated emergency responses after a landslide hit Suichuan County, Jiangxi Province, on Saturday.

The disaster struck Mingkeng Village in Gaoping Town. Authorities have ordered a full-scale search for the trapped and deployed professional rescue and communication teams to the area.

Rescuers are working to verify casualties, locate survivors, monitor hydrological and geological risks, and prevent secondary disasters.

A Level-IV national natural disaster relief response and a Level-IV national geological disaster emergency response have been activated. 

A national work safety survey team equipped with slope radar has been sent to support on-site rescue.

Local fire crews have deployed 224 firefighters and 41 rescue vehicles, while communication and reconnaissance drones assisting the operation.
