Floods hit Suichuan County in east China's Jiangxi Province, September 4, 2026. /VCG

Three people have been confirmed dead, and nine others remain missing as of Sunday afternoon after a mudslide struck a village in Suichuan County, Ji'an City, east China's Jiangxi Province, around 4 a.m. on Saturday, China Media Group reported.

The mudslide was triggered by days of torrential rain brought by Typhoon Saudel.

Affected residents have been safely relocated, while roads and telecommunications services have also been restored, according to earlier reports.
