Rescue teams fully reopened the only land route to Gyirong Port on Wednesday morning after overcoming challenges such as damaged roads, rugged terrain and other obstacles, allowing rescuers, relief supplies, equipment and heavy machinery to reach the core disaster area by road to carry out more intensive rescue operations.
